Mark Jones

I'm responsible for writing, editing and publishing content across all of the digital channels managed by Shropshire Council. As an experienced copy-editor, I specialise in writing for the web, ensuring that our pages do what our customers need them to do, and that they're well written, consistent in style, and inclusive in tone and presentation. I also wrote and look after our style guide, adherence to which helps greatly in achieving the things mentioned above.

Home is a smallholding in a forest in north Herefordshire, where I look after animals, plants and two children.

Experience

I've been a central point of contact for all web and intranet content issues across the council for over a decade, whether those issues relate to new or revised content, a restructuring of a service area, development of a new service area from scratch, or headline stories promoted on our website or intranet homepages.

I've written as a journalist for Living France and various food and drink magazines, both online and in print. I also write for several football-related websites.
